Seminar Location - Map and Directions

The Birmingham Community House is located two blocks west of the Townsend Hotel, on Bates Street, between Townsend and Merrill Streets, and is three blocks south of Maple (15-Mile) Road, about 6 blocks west of Woodward Avenue.

Parking:

The covered parking structures (in Blue) allow first two hours parking free, then $1 (one) per hour thereafter. This is the ï¿½Best Deal, Least Hassleï¿½ option. One parking structure is three short blocks east of the Community House; another is two blocks north and one block west of the Community House.

The Metered Parking Lot (in Green/Teal color on above map), directly across the street from the Community House Main Entrance, is also open; Meter charges $0.25 per 15 minutes (coins only), two-hours maximum stay, (you are supposed to move your car before/at the two-hour limit - patrolled by City Parking Enforcement). This parking lot is not ï¿½user-friendlyï¿½ for a three-hour event.

Directions to the Community House:

From I-75 Southbound (North of Troy): Exit at Big Beaver (16 Mile Road). Go west on Big Beaver to Woodward Ave. Turn right onto Woodward, get into the far left lane and turn left at the first ï¿½U-turnï¿½ lane, to head south on Woodward. Follow signs for ï¿½City of Birminghamï¿½ turnoff (right lane), then continue straight (this is Old Woodward) for about 6/10ths of a mile, to the stop light at Maple Road. Turn right on Maple (heading west). Go three blocks to Bates Street. Turn left on Bates, heading south, for two blocks). The Community House is on the southwest corner of Bates and Merrill Streets, with the main entrance in the middle of the block - 380 S. Bates.

From I-75 Northbound (From Downtown Detroit): Exit at 14 Mile Road. Go west on 14 Mile Road to Woodward Ave. Turn right onto Woodward (heading northerly) one mile to Maple (15-Mile) Road, get into the far left lane and turn left onto Maple (west). Go three blocks to Bates Street. Turn left on Bates, heading south, for two blocks). The Community House is on the southwest corner of Bates and Merrill Streets, with the main entrance in the middle of the block - 380 S. Bates.

From I-696, I-96, I-94 and Lodge (M-10) Freeways: Exit onto Southfield Road - north. Go north to dead-end at Maple (15-Mile) Road. (Stay to right, and turn left onto Maple, heading east.) Go two blocks to Bates Street. Turn right on Bates, heading south, for two blocks. The Community House is on the southwest corner of Bates and Merrill Streets, with the main entrance in the middle of the block - 380 S. Bates.
